Ocean's Edge provides the opportunity to purchase a luxurious vacation home on the beautiful unspoiled island of St. Kitts. Property overview
Ocean's Edge comprises 76 one, two and three bedroom Beachfront apartments, 66 two bedroom Hillside apartments, 48 Poolside cottages and 32 hilltop plots for private, villas. Building height will be restricted to three levels and many properties will have uninterrupted ocean views. Under Construction since July 2008.
Ocean's Edge has been accepted into the Green Globe Benchmarking program.
Beachfront Apartments
Nine apartment buildings, two of which each house six two-bedroom apartments with private plunge pools, will be within yards of the beach offering great ocean views. Three of the buildings will each house eight, one-bedroom apartments. The remaining four buildings will each house, eight one-bedroom apartments plus a one-bedroom and three-bedroom penthouse with private plunge pool.
A total of 76 beachfront apartments built within yards of the beach all with fabulous views of the ocean and all within easy access to the Clubhouse, Beachfront Restaurant and the resort’s main swimming pool.
Hillside apartments
Built along the hillside is a series of apartment buildings, each housing two 2-bedroom units, one on each floor. Each of these 66 spacious apartments have a private plunge pool and a broad terrace for luxurious outdoor living. This elevated hillside position affords panoramic ocean, golf and mountain views from both the upper and lower units.
Poolside cottages
Set in their own gardens, the semi-detached two bedroom Poolside Cottages are beautifully positioned on level ground around the ornamental pool and close to the resort amenities. Each single storey cottage has a kitchen, spacious dining and living area leading onto a large terrace with private plunge pool. The cottages have two bedrooms and two bathrooms, one bedroom and bathroom can be closed off to form a one bedroom suite.
Property management & rental program
It is proposed that a management company will administer and manage any property rentals on the resort. In exchange for a share of rental revenue the management company will market the resort, take reservations, operate the front desk, maintain the properties and provide the services which guests expect such as housekeeping, concierge and catering. After deductions for management and marketing costs, any net rental income for each property will be paid to its owner at regular intervals. The exact structure of the rental scheme is to be confirmed by the resort operator. Owners can use their properties themselves as often as they like.
Citizenship
Ocean’s Edge is an approved project of the Citizenship by Investment Programme of the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis provided for in the Citizenship Act 1984. Purchasers who make a minimum investment of US$350,000* in a unit or a villa plot will be entitled to apply for Citizenship of the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis.

Location
St. Kitts & Nevis are located in the northern part of the Leeward Islands in the eastern Caribbean, 19 degrees north of the equator, separated by a channel two miles wide. St. Kitts is 23 miles long and 5 miles across at it's widest, encompassing an area of 68 square miles. The island's point of highest elevation is Mt. Liamuiga, at 3,792 feet. Nevis, the smaller island, lies to the south and is approximately 7 miles in diameter, covering a total of 36 square miles.

The history
The recorded history of St. Kitts begins with the second voyage in 1493 of Christopher Columbus who sailed past the island but did not land. By the time the Englishman Thomas Warner arrived with fourteen other settlers in 1624 to found the first non-Spanish European colony in the Caribbean, the island was known as St. Christopher's.
Thomas Warner chose St. Christopher for its abundant forests and fresh water, its fertile easily worked soil, its accessible physical structure, and the presence of salt. Long ago, St. Kitts and Nevis were the pearls of the British Caribbean, rich and enormously important islands that were celebrated throughout Europe. Nevis, the "Queen of the Caribbees," possessed unimaginable wealth from its super-productive sugar industry, while on St. Kitts the impregnable fortress of Brimstone Hill stood as the Gibraltar of the West Indies.

The ten-day party opens officially on December 24thand is followed by traditional Caribbean celebrations into the New Year, including Calypso King and Queen competitions, the Miss St. Kitts beauty and talent pageant and the regional Caribbean Queen Show.
Year-round events include fishing tournaments, the Caribbean Cup multi-island bicycle race (the St. Kitts leg is called the Cane Road Classic), sailing regattas, music festivals, the Nevis Culturama and more.
The St. Kitts Music Festival, which takes place in June, features a wide range of world music, including salsa, soul, soca, samba, reggae and jazz and pop. In 2006, the festival celebrated its tenth birthday.
Each July, the Nevis Culturama, held in Charlestown, the island's capital, offers a parade of costumed troupes, arts and crafts, talent shows, beauty pageants, calypso competitions and a local food fair.
