Residency
Residency in the Caymans requires a criminal background check and an investment of approximately US$200,000 in a home in the Islands. Additionally, there is a fee of CI$15,000.00 (US$18 dollars), (includes spouse and children under 18). After six months of temporary residency one is eligible for permanent residency. Residency does not include the right to work. The right to work is very guarded in Cayman and any employment requires a work permit which is likely to be issued only if local labor is not available for a particular position.
